Ivona Leskur, a sociologist pursuing her PhD at the University of Belgrade, explores the intersection of digital technologies and sustainable development. Her Master’s thesis delved into Serbia’s adoption of the ‘Smart City’ concept, analyzing its potential and risks for urban sustainability. Awarded scholarships by the Embassy of Japan and JTI Serbia, she conducted a comparative study on Japanese Smart Cities, aiming to adapt their models for Serbian urban planning. Recognized by the Ministry of European Integration, her research paper focused on Serbia’s post-pandemic strategy through green and digital transitions, aligning with the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans. Ivona’s research interests encompass digital technologies for sustainable development and the impact of green policies on international relations.
