RSPD Alumna Bojana Gašić Successfully Completes Prestigious EU Diplomatic Programme for the Enlargement Region
19, June 2025
We are proud to announce that our alumna, Bojana Gašić, has successfully completed the inaugural edition of the European Union Diplomatic Programme for the Enlargement Region.
Below you can read more about the programme and her experience.
I was honored to be selected as one of 14 junior diplomats and officials from 10 EU candidate countries to participate in the first cohort of the European Union Diplomatic Programme for the Enlargement Region (EUDP). As a five months residential programme EUDP is hosted by the College of Europe in Bruges and funded by the European Commission (DG ENEST). Programme is established under the framework of the Enlargement Policy and the European Neighbourhood Policy.
The programme builds upon the successful experience of the European Union Diplomatic Academy (EUDA), implemented by the College of Europe for junior diplomats of the EU Member States and EU Institutions. This flagship programme launched by the European External Action Service (EEAS) in 2022 fosters a shared European diplomatic culture and strengthens the expertise on EU external action. The EUDP includes joint modules with the EUDA, establishing a framework of exchange between European diplomats from the enlargement region and current EU Member States.
The overall objective of the EUDP is to foster regional cooperation among junior officials of the enlargement region and with their EU peers by creating a unified ‘esprit de corps’ and strengthening their knowledge in EU affairs. The Programme is especially tailored towards junior officials working in the field of foreign policy (EU Common Foreign and Security Policy – CFSP) and EU accession.
Guided by our Director, former EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, and her exceptional team, we joined forces with participants from the European Union Diplomatic Academy to form a cohesive cohort, proudly called the Jan van Eyck promotion, symbolizing our shared commitment to learning, dialogue, and European diplomacy.
Our days were filled with a mix of theory and practice: lectures from leading experts, workshops, simulation games, and countless discussions on the future of Europe. We also stepped outside the classroom – visiting Brussels, Strasbourg, Luxembourg and other key places where EU decisions are shaped, gaining first-hand insights into how policies turn into action. The programme concluded in Poland, where we also had the opportunity to visit the Polish-Ukrainian border. Seeing the border firsthand was a powerful reminder of the importance of peace, solidarity, and diplomacy in our region.
