Two Years of Building Dialogue, Cooperation, and Leadership
23, June 2025
Over the past two years, the Regional School for Political Development has become a unique platform bringing together 30 young leaders from Serbia, Croatia, and North Macedonia. Through intensive seminars, study visits, and policy labs, the school created a space for dialogue, cooperation and exchange of knowledge across borders.
What we achieved together:
- Three regional seminars in Croatia, North Macedonia, and Serbia, where participants explored the role of political institutions, dialogue, and the challenges of green policies.
- In-depth focus on green policies, with study visits to Rijeka and the island of Krk, learning from local practices in circular economy, sustainable energy, and youth engagement.
- Study visit to Brussels, where participants had the chance to engage directly with representatives of EU institutions, gaining first-hand insights into European policymaking and the role of the Western Balkans in the EU integration process.
- Presentation of the School at the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg, which showcased the project on a global stage as a model of youth empowerment, regional cooperation, and democratic dialogue.
- Mentorship program enabling participants to design practical proposals tackling issues such as climate change, sustainable development and digital transformation.
- Final conference “Green Horizons: Shaping the Future” in Skopje, which brought together participants, decision-makers, and experts to present lessons learned and future visions for the region.
Our impact:
The Regional School empowered young people to strengthen their leadership skills, build friendships and professional networks, and gain new perspectives on democracy, sustainability, and regional cooperation. More than a training program, it has grown into a community of changemakers ready to contribute to democratic development in the Western Balkans.
What’s next:
Although this two-year cycle has come to an end, the story of the Regional School continues. New activities, opportunities, and initiatives are already on the horizon.
Stay tuned – next chapter of the Regional School for Political Development is just beginning!
