Third RSPD Seminar in Serbia – Engage, Advocate, Lead: Youth in Civic Action

The third seminar of the RSPD project was held in Srebrno jezero, Serbia, from September 20 to 22. Participants from our three participating countries used this opportunity to learn and discuss on the topic of public advocacy, and thus rounding their knowledge necessary in the green policy process.

Participants attended lectures held by respected experts in the fields of advocacy and social media, namely, Igor Jojkić and Maša Đurić, respectively. Vladimir Đurđević held an insightful lecture on climate security and the importance of green policies in building resilient societies. The six public policy groups working on their green policy proposals presented their projects and ideas among each other, giving feedback and advice in order to further develop them. A panel was also held on the topic of activism in sustainable development, where participants engaged with panelists Milica Borjanić (National Youth Council of Serbia), Hristina Vojvodić (RERI), and Natalija Stojimenović (National Assembly of Serbia).

The seminar also included a boat trip on the Danube to the Golubac fortress, where participants could enjoy their time learning about the nature and culture of Eastern Serbia.

The participants will now finalize their policy proposal in anticipation to the following study visit to Rijeka and Krk in Coratia, at the beginning of October.

The project is implemented by the Academy for Political Development from Croatia, the Center for Research and Policy Making from North Macedonia, and the Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society.
